“I am pleased to share with you the attached Press Releases from The Old Laurentian Society who are our trusted Landlords of Fenley Field and Bilton Grange School. This is very welcome news and we share the sentiments of both Peter Jenkins and Alex Osiatynski in being delighted by this development which will ensure the  continuing well-being of Old Laurentian RFC. We will keep you informed as matters develop and look forward to being at our new home at the beginning of our Centenary season in September 2019”

Andrew Spriggs

Chairman Old Laurentian RFC

Below is a public statement issued at the Society EGM this evening (Wednesday 24th).

The Old Laurentian Society is pleased to announce a planned move from its home at Fenley Field in Bilton to a purpose-built facility at Bilton Grange Preparatory School (BG) in Dunchurch.

The Society will become tenants of BG, subject to a long-term lease, and will build a new clubhouse, including a function room, gym and separate changing blocks.

The school, which provides day and boarding facilities for 280 children aged 4 to 13 years, will share these cutting-edge facilities, supporting pupils and the wider community. Planned infrastructure improvements as part of the development will also benefit the neighbours of the school.

The Old Laurentians Rugby Football Club (OLRFC) and the Rugby and East Warwickshire Hockey Club (REWHC) each have senior, ladies and junior sections and both have long outgrown the facilities at Fenley Field. A move to BG, with the additional space available, will be of huge benefit.

Subject to planning consent, Fenley Field will be acquired by Bellway Homes. The move to BG is expected to take approximately 18 months with the new facilities being open in time for the centenary of the rugby club in 2019/20.

Peter Jenkins the Chairman of the Old Laurentian Society, said ‘We are thrilled with the plans to move to Bilton Grange, where we will be able to share some outstanding new facilities - a great improvement on our current site. The school campus is absolutely amazing and I know all our teams, from minis to adults, will enjoy playing in this new environment.’

Email to Parents

Dear Parents

We are delighted to let you know that we will shortly announce a new partnership which will involve the School welcoming the Old Laurentian (OLs) Rugby Club and Rugby and East Warwickshire Hockey Club (REWHC) as tenants onto the School’s 90-acre grounds in Dunchurch.

The partnership will see further cutting-edge sports facilities such as a new pavilion (serving both club and school), changing facilities and further Hockey amenities, built on the Bilton Grange site over the coming years. The facilities would be shared by both clubs and the school, supporting our pupils, club members and the wider community, as well as improvements to the infrastructure in and around the school which will also benefit the school’s neighbours.

We are delighted that we are able to cement our already-close ties with two of the major sporting clubs in the region, a move which can only further support our pupils sporting development.

Naturally, we will keep you abreast of developments as plans are put in place and timescales agreed but in the first instance, I wanted to ensure that you were the first to know about such a thrilling new development for the Bilton Grange community.

With all best wishes
